My Netflix Review

admin | Netflix Review | Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Greetings visitors and Netflix fans and foes!

I’ve been a customer of Netflix for a while now and let me tell you, if you like renting videos Netflix will blow any video store out of the water.

Personally, my best recommendation is to make sure you stay on top of sending in the videos after you’ve done watching them. It can be easy to fall out of the habit and the next thing you know, you’re sitting on the same set of videos you had last month. This is not advised because your account is still active and your credit card is being charged. But you aren’t getting any fresh movies.

That is all for now, please leave a comment with your own experiences with Netflix.

  1. I am amazed at how many complaints are out there about Netflix. I have
been a member for a year now and can really see a decline in my
service. There are only three movies in my queue and all three state
‘long wait’. One of these titles has been listed as such since early
October! I refuse to add movies to my queue just so I can have
something to watch; I am paying them to view what I want when I want.
Thank God I am on a month-to-month basis. I am now realizing that the
same movies I am waiting on are available through my satellite service
for $3 each. Since I own a DVD burner I can watch these titles, burn
and own them for the same cost as Netflix is making me pay to wait! I
am starting to see more of the titles listed as ‘long wait’ and it
won’t be long until I take my business elsewhere.

  2. It Really Comes Down to Just One Thing:

And that’s whether or not you like the convenience of in store returns. BB has made it very easy for in store renters to try out the occasional online rental. Netflix edges them out in most online rental areas (except the throttling of new releases), but can’t compete with the physical locations of BB. I’ve used both and am a current Netflix user, but finding myself at Redbox a couple times per month when I really want to see a movie.

    Found a good overview here:

I’d love to see an alliance between Netflix and Redbox. I’ve used both BB and Netflix and am a current Netflix user. But BB has recognized their strength and their newest plans cater to folks who are primarily instore renters, and might dabble online. I love Netflix, but often find myself at Redbox for rentals. Netflix with any kind of physical presence could be the nail in the coffin.

  3. Service is horrible. We waited a whole month for them to send Beverly Hills Chuhuahua and then they said we would have it Friday and on Friday I received an email saying they received it BACK….in other words we never got the movie. They called this a loop - more like a lie.
I have only been using Netflix for about 1 1/2 months and here is the real scoop - FORGET using them if you want to see a new release. After you join and pay they tell you they only get a few copies of new releases so it takes a while in your 1st place que to really get the movies you want. If you like old movies - it is a great service back and forth. But basically useless if you want to watch new releases. (If you leave the movies as the only movies in your que you won’t get any!) Long wait and very long wait stay that way…and they tell you to choose other movies. Lots and lots of complaints and I am another very unsatisfied customer - no wonder they are making so much money - they need competition - anyone want to join me? :)
